  Delegation of Rizhao City, Shandong Province will present at ACSCS & ACBS Summit 2010.The delegates include government official and managing officer of state own enterprises. The purpose of this delegation is to participate in Investment & Financing Forum and to invite investments from overseas.

   Rizhao is a port city along the coast of China, with two ports connecting with the world and one railway linking Asia with Europe, Rizhao is also  the Eastern Bridgehead of the New Euro-Asia Continental Bridge.

   Rizhao is located at the southern end of Shandong Peninsula along the coast of the Yellow Sea, facing Korea and Japan across the sea in the east. It has an Economic and Technological Development Zone and a Shanhaitian Tourism & Vacation Zone. The city has a total area of 5310 sq.km, coastline of 100 km and a population of 2.78 million. Advantages of Rizhao are superior geographic location, favorable eco-environment, abundant resources and improving urban functions.

Economic Features:

   With rich produce and advanced industries of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery, Rizhao is the major producers of cereal, oil, fruit and animal products. Rizhao teems with wheat, corn, peanut, cotton, tobacco, fruit, silk cocoon and tea. The output of silk cocoon leads Shandong Province and the output of tea is the biggest both in Shandong and north of River Huai in China. Rizhao has abundant aquatic products. Haizhouwan fishing farm is one of the four biggest fishing farms in China. Andongwei of Rizhao city is the biggest market of seafood in China. Rizhao also has rich mineral resources. The proved up granite reserve is 5 billion tons. The major products include granite, marble serpentine, asbestos, yellow sand, gold, rutile, etc. The reserves of granite and marble are 11 billion cubic metres.

    Rizhao has perfect conditions for developing port industry. The bays are broad and deep, never freeze or silt up, suitable for building up over 100 berths of various kinds, with a total capacity of 200 million tons, especially for building 150,000-300,000 ton class deep berths. Now there are 27 productive berths, including two 100,000-ton  coal terminals, one 50,000 ton liquor chemical terminal and fourteen 10,000-ton berths. Rizhao Port and Lanshan Port are the most convenient port for South Shandong Province, North Henan Province and South Shanxi Province. Both ports are equipped with special railway line and storage facilities.

   Rizhao is a perfect place for developing coasting industries such as steel industry, petroleum chemistry industry, papermaking, and oil refining etc. Up to 2010, Rizhao will become one of the main production bases of farming vehicles and fittings, machine manufacture, metal framework, electronically operated motorcar, hard wares, domestic electric products and electronic products; an important oil refining base and distributing center, with the oil refining capacity of 10 million tons, transshipment capacity of 20 million tons; a key power supply base to meet the requirement of the great coasting industry development; a key base of grease industry , with an annual soybean process capacity of 3 million tons; a key base for timber process and exportation; an key export base of seafood fresh-keeping, fine aquatic product process, fine vegetable exported to Korea and Japan; a key base of stone process, production and exportation in Shandong Province; one of the main production bases of genetic engineering, biochemistry, and medical chemistry; a key pulp and paper making base of China with the total output of 3 million tons; the main production base of textile, carpet, drawn work, and knitting export; and the biggest base of silk production, process and export, and the biggest base for cement production and exportation.

   Rizhao is one of the cradles of Chinese Civilization with a long history and brilliant culture. There are some famous historic relics including Lingyanghe, Liangcheng, Donghaiyu and Yaowangcheng. All these relics belong to Dawenkou Culture or Longshan Culture. According to the "Brief Guide of World History "published by British Oxford University, Liangcheng Town was the earliest city in Asia between 3500 B. C. and 2000 B. C. The pictograph inscribed on the earthenware excavated in Ju County of Rizhao City is more than 4800 years old. The pictograph was proved to be the earliest pictograph in China, which is over 1000 years earlier than Oracle. Rizhao black pottery with the history of 5000 years is the treasure of Chinese Civilization. Rizhao is one of the three famous towns of modern Chinese folk paintings. The farmers' paintings are very popular both home and abroad.

Tourist Attractions:

    Combined with Qingdao, Taian, Qufu, it has formed “the Culture Tourism Circle of Shandong”, which together with the Xian-Dunhuang-Tulufan “Silk Road Culture”, constitute the land bridge tourism belt.

   There are the second largest natural lagoon in Asia, Rizhao National Seashore Park, Shanhaitian Tourism & Recreation Zone, Liujiawan Beach Comb Park, Wanpingko Scenery, Wanjiazao Focal Custom Tourism Village and many stretches of sand beach.

    Mount Fulai has a 3,500-year-old ancient ginkgo tree, an ancient Buddhist Temple of Jing Dynasty, Temple and Hut of Sui Tang Dynasty (Dinglin Temple), in which the "Confucian Classics Checking Tower" is where Mr. Liu Xie, author of "litterateur Feeling Engraved Dragon", stayed in his late years. Mount Wulian is a provincial scenic site. When the famous literati Sushi in Song Dynasty assumed the senior official in Mizhou, he praised the mount as queer and beautiful as Mount Yandang, Mount Jiuxian is 697 meters above sea level, and 55 square kilometers around. There is the famous “Sunbin College” on the mount. When spring comes, there is wild azalea everywhere. Within the boundary, the Great Wall of Ji Dynasty, the relic of Yaowang Castle, the relic of Linyanghe, the Ancient Town of Ju State, Stele on the Sea, Mount Lumu etc. are all the good resorts for history study.
